In the Archives of the Republic of Srpska 667 archive groups are kept:
- Head Office in Banja Luka 463 (Complete list - serbian language)
- Regional unit in Doboj 97 and (Complete list - serbian language)
- Regional unit in Foca 90 (Complete list - serbian language)
i.e. 30 collections:
- Head Office in Banja Luka 22 and
- Regional unit in Doboj 8.
At the same time, the Archives does the supervision of protection of the records at 14.747 Registry Offices (possessors and creators).
The greatest part of the records is the groups of the state organs, administrative organs of ban's, district, regional, county, municipal and local significance, as well as archive groups of socio-political organizations.
Majority of archive groups and collections is classified and available.
The oldest preserved archival document belongs to the Collection of oriental
manuscripts and documents.
The Archives has a library with 13950 of library titles (books, laws, regulations, periodicals and newspapers) of historical and archival contents.
